ACT-Based Wellbeing Support

Our Philosophy

ACT Wellbeing Support is an approach focused on helping people develop psychological flexibility — the ability to manage difficult thoughts, emotions, and life experiences while continuing to move towards what truly matters. Grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), the support combines mindfulness, values-based action, emotional awareness, and practical psychological strategies to improve wellbeing, resilience, and everyday functioning.

Rather than trying to eliminate stress, anxiety, or uncomfortable thoughts, ACT Wellbeing Support helps individuals build a healthier relationship with internal experiences while developing meaningful and sustainable ways of responding to challenges. The approach is compassionate, evidence-informed, and focused on helping people live more fully, purposefully, and effectively in both personal and performance environments.

Areas of support may include stress management, emotional resilience, confidence, self-doubt, performance pressure, burnout, motivation, values clarification, and wellbeing under pressure.

Acceptance and commitment therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) can help improve life by developing psychological flexibility — the ability to handle difficult thoughts, emotions, and experiences without becoming controlled by them. Many people spend large amounts of energy trying to avoid anxiety, self-doubt, stress, painful memories, or uncomfortable emotions. While understandable, this struggle can often increase suffering and pull people away from the life they want to live.

ACT helps people build a healthier relationship with their thoughts and feelings through mindfulness, acceptance, and values-based action. Instead of trying to “get rid” of difficult emotions, ACT teaches people how to make space for them while continuing to take meaningful action towards what truly matters. This can help reduce emotional avoidance, improve resilience, strengthen relationships, and increase overall wellbeing.

ACT can support people in many areas of life, including stress management, anxiety, confidence, burnout, motivation, emotional resilience, performance under pressure, and self-development. By learning to respond more flexibly rather than react automatically, people often experience greater clarity, purpose, and emotional balance.

At the centre of ACT is the idea that a meaningful life is not built by avoiding discomfort, but by learning how to move forward even when difficult thoughts and emotions are present.

Sleepwalk. Live in the dream.

About Sleepwalk: Live in the Dream

I’m a psychologist with a passion for helping people understand how their mind works — not just in theory, but in everyday life. Through years, I’ve seen how easy it is to move through life on autopilot, repeating the same patterns without ever really questioning them.

Sleepwalk: Live in the Dream was written to challenge that.

This book is about becoming more aware of your thoughts, habits, and behaviours, and taking back control of your direction. It combines psychological insight with practical reflection to help you move from drifting through life to living with intention.

The aim is simple: to help you step back, see things more clearly, and start making choices that lead to a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

ACT

Sleepwalk: Live in the Dream is influenced by the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) — a psychological approach that focuses on changing how you relate to your thoughts, rather than trying to get rid of them.

Instead of fighting or avoiding difficult thoughts and emotions, ACT encourages you to step back from them, recognise them for what they are, and continue moving forward in a way that aligns with what truly matters to you.

Throughout the book, these ideas are presented in a practical and relatable way to help you become more aware of your patterns, build psychological flexibility, and take meaningful action — even when things feel uncomfortable.

The goal isn’t to feel perfect or positive all the time, but to develop the ability to stay present, make conscious choices, and live a more intentional and fulfilling life.
