Stephen Renwick

My name is Stephen Renwick. I offer sport psychology and performance coaching for athletes, performers, and high-achievers who want to perform consistently under pressure. My approach integrates evidence-based sport psychology with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to build mental resilience, focus, confidence, and emotional control. Sessions focus on managing anxiety, overcoming performance blocks, improving motivation, and aligning performance with personal values—supporting both wellbeing and results in sport and life.

I specialise in sport psychology, helping athletes and high-performers manage pressure, anxiety, and self-doubt. I offer practical, evidence-based strategies to build confidence, focus, and mental resilience, drawing on sport psychology and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed by pressure, or frustrated that your performance doesn’t match your ability, you’re not alone. Many driven people struggle silently with anxiety, self-doubt, or fear of failure. I offer a supportive, non-judgemental space to help you make sense of these challenges and move forward with clarity and confidence.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you change your relationship with your thoughts and feelings so they no longer dictate what you do. Rather than trying to remove discomfort, ACT supports you to: Make space for difficult emotions. Step back from unhelpful thinking. Become more present and grounded. Clarify what truly matters to you. Take meaningful action, even when life is tough.
I provide sport psychology support for athletes of all ages, abilities, and competitive levels — from beginners and amateur performers to elite competitors. My approach focuses on helping athletes develop the mental skills needed to improve confidence, focus, motivation, resilience, and performance under pressure.
I work with athletes across a wide range of sports, including football, athletics, boxing, swimming, golf, combat sports, running, cycling, fitness competitions, and team sports. Sessions are tailored to the individual athlete and their specific performance goals, challenges, and mindset.
Areas of support may include:
Whether you are preparing for competition, returning from disappointment, or aiming to reach the next level in your sport, sport psychology can help strengthen the mental side of performance alongside physical training.
Please note: I currently do not provide support for racket sports such as tennis, badminton and squash.

Book your intake session and explore your sporting concerns in confidence.
